Personal Review

Instagram is a powerful platform for people to connect. As the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words.

Politicians, celebrities and bloggers are using instagram to gain popularity by sharing quality photos that aim to inspire, educate and motivate fellow followers and connect with them directly.
I have been an Instagram user for almost 3 years.
I look forward to using Instagram during my free time to browse for images uploaded by my friends who are sharing their personal experiences such as when they visit interesting places of travel or when they are at functions or events. Concurrently, I can also peep into the lives of politicians and celebrities whom I ‘follow’ on Instagram.
The app is simple to use. It is a good editing tool to enhance my photos and for me to share the same with my friends.
Instagram can be turned into a market place where serious vendors and leisure users share images of products such pre-owned bags and even gadgets for sale. Personally I have purchased and even sold items via this app.

'MYDREAMBAG' and 'BAGYOURPARDON' are examples of vendors that I follow on Instagram.

One nice feature of Instagram is that it features photos of popular users who gather large numbers of ‘likes’ on the main feed. This provides a great avenue for genuine users to discover new and interesting user to follow and they may even build a connection with them.
As, for recommendations, I think it  would be useful to have a zoom function in respect of the images so that users could view the enlarged version.

The app could also include text edit whereby users can choose to add texts to their images.
A Collage function would also greatly increase the usability of the app as most users including myself uses a 3rd party app such as pic-collage to create a collage before posting on instagram.
There is currently no way to check on an instagram user’s full feed from a regular computer. Although Instagram can work on a tablet, the app has not been optimized and therefore the images shown on the tablet is the size of a smartphone screen instead of the entire screen of the tablet.
